    – Do not use with bitumen asphalt, neoprene or specific organic elastomers

    – Not to be used in the construction of Aquariums, or any submerged areas.

    SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    Improve adhesion by wiping the surface with EVERBUILD PVC SOLVENT CLEANER (PVC), EVERBUILD GLASS CLEANER (glass) or white spirits (painted surfaces).
    Priming is generally not needed, although we always advise testing small areas prior to use. If the use of primer is desired for non-porous surface use Silicone Primer
    NP2 or for porous surface use Silicone Primer P1.

    APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS

    Cut the tip of the cartridge with a sharp blade, taking care not to damage the thread. Apply using a standard sealant gun. Best results will be obtained by keeping the gun at a constant angle to the surface being sealed. In addition, to ensure a proper bond, always smooth the sealant down.

    LIMITATIONS

    – Can not be used in conjunction with asphalt, neoprene and certain organic elastomers.
    – Do not use on services that bleed oil, solvents or plasticisers.

    – While producing plastics very often releasing agents, processing aids and other protective agents (like protection foil) are used. These should be removed prior to bonding. For optimum adhesion, the use of  Surface Activator is recommended.

    Apply Primer 150 for applications on porous surfaces prior to installing sealant – no primer required for nonporous surfaces. Apply using a standard sealant gun, cutting the nozzle to the width of the joint required. Finish by tooling off sealant joint to give a smooth finish & ensure a proper bond has been achieved

    REMARKS

    This product can not be used on natural stones like marble, etc. Use Silirub MA instead

    APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    All surfaces must be dry and dust free. All loose surface coatings and old sealant and mastic joints, should be removed. Glass, metal and aluminium should be cleaned with a cleaner.

    APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS

    Reference must be made to the recommended joint ratios. Reduce joint depth using Expanding Foam or Joint Backer Rod. Furthermore, ensure that the joint design permits adhesion to two surfaces. Cut the tip of the cartridge with a sharp blade, taking care not to damage the thread. Apply nozzle and cut at an angle, with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be sealed. Apply using a  sealant gun. Best results will be obtained by keeping an even pressure on the gun trigger and keeping the gun at an angle. Smooth down within 10 minutes. To ensure a proper bond, always smooth the sealant down using a spatula with a soap and water solution.

    CLEANING OF TOOLS

    Uncured sealant: white spirit. Cured sealant: EVERFLEX® SILICONE EATER.

    LIMITATIONS

    – Not for use in conjunction with bitumen or asphalt. Use WEATHERMATE.
    – Not for use on porous surfaces such as new concrete.

    Cut the tip of the cartridge with a Stanley knife, taking care not to damage the thread. Apply nozzle and cut cleanly, again with a Stanley knife. Apply using a standard sealant gun.

    LIMITATIONS

    – Not for use in conjunction with bitumen or asphalt.
    – Do not attempt to abrade when cured.
    – Do not overpaint until a surface skin has formed (allow minimum 1 hour).
    – Overpainting is recommended externally to prolong the working life of the product, especially in areas prone to high/low-temperature variations.

    Note: this product is flexible. Certain inferior quality paints (especially certain vinyl matts) have minimal movement in the dry film. The dry paint film can crack if the movement is excessive. Do not use externally around PVCu – Use Silicone 450 or Puraflex 25

    Dowsil 781 Acetoxy Silicone Sealant is a one-part, silicone sealant which has good adhesion to a range of non-porous surfaces including glass, aluminium, painted surfaces and composite boards.     HOW TO USE

    SURFACE PREPARATION

    Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and free from frost, release agents, old sealants and other contaminants which could impair adhesion. All surfaces should be cleaned by wiping with a suitable solvent such as DOWSIL R40 Universal Cleaner on a clean oil- and lint-free cloth before application of sealant.

    Note: When using any solvent, always provide adequate ventilation. Avoid heat, sparks and open flames. Use solvent resistant gloves. Observe and follow all precautions listed on solvent container label.

    MASKING

    Areas adjacent to the joints should be masked with tape to prevent contamination of the substrates and to ensure a neat sealant line. Masking tape should be removed immediately after tooling.

    PRIMING

    All joint surfaces other than glass and glazed ceramics should be primed. Furthermore, for specific advice, please refer to the DOWSIL ® Primers’ Guide or contact one of Dowsil’s Regional Service Centre for technical assistance.
