Arbo Arbosil 1096

Product Description:

Arbo Arbosil 1096 is a one-part Low Modulus Neutral Cure Silicone, which cures upon exposure to moisture vapour to form an elastic, rubber-like silicone.

Recommended for use in a wide range of construction applications, including glass to glass joints, curtain wall assemblies, perimeter seals to curtain walls, perimeter sealing to polyester powder coated and PVCu frames. Approved for use with laminated glass by several manufacturers. Suitable for use as a weather seal on structural glazing applications.

This product is not recommended for overpainting and use against natural stone.

APPLICATION

Preparation

The surfaces must be dry, clean and free from any contamination. The surfaces should be degreased using an appropriate cleaner. Primers may be required on some surfaces. It is advised that Adshead Ratcliffe Technical Services Department should be consulted and information obtained about the choice of primer for specific purposes.

Joint Backing

Where applicable, an appropriate joint filler, e.g. closed-cell polyethylene foam, should be used to provide the correct depth for the joint. All preparation, priming, and sealant application should be carried out following BS 8000 Part 16. This is the British Standard for the sealing of joints in buildings using sealants.

Application

Arbosil 1096 is supplied in a 380ml cartridges and can be applied into the joint using a sealant application gun.

Minimum 10mm on porous substrates
Minimum 6mm on non-porous substrates

STORAGE LIFE

Twelve months in original unopened packaging stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
