LevelMaster 200 is a single-component, polymer-modified, cementitious levelling compound that provides a smooth, level base for various internal floor types, such as concrete and sand/cement screeds. Conforming to EN 13813:2002 (Class CT-C20-F7), it serves as an ideal underlay for flooring finishes like ceramic tiles, carpet, vinyl, and wood. Suitable for use with underfloor heating, it incorporates powdered latex for convenience, eliminating the need for separate latex liquids. The compound is self-smoothing, accepts foot traffic within 3–4 hours, and can be applied in layers up to 6mm thick, or 20mm with added chippings.
Key Points
- Pre-blended, easy-to-use single pack that only requires water for mixing.
- Self-smoothing and walkable within 3–4 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Compatible with underfloor heating and suitable for hygiene or food preparation areas.
- Chloride- and protein-free, with added polymers for flexibility and thickness options up to 20mm with chippings.
Shelf Life:
LevelMaster 200 has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture, as indicated on the bag, when stored in unopened sacks.
Storage Conditions:
Store in unopened, original bags in a dry location, away from extreme temperatures and drafts. Keep the bags off the ground and maintain storage temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Ensure partially used bags are resealed to preserve the product.

LevelMaster 200 is an ideal underlay for leveling most common internal subfloors before installing final surfaces such as ceramic tiles, carpet, vinyl, and wood flooring, with a minimum levelling thickness of 3mm. It is also suitable for use over cement and sand screeds with existing underfloor heating systems. Additionally, the compound contains powdered latex, removing the need for separate, costly latex liquids.
Substrates:
LevelMaster 200 can be used over:
- Concrete and cement-based substrates
- Sanded and vacuumed calcium sulphate (gypsum) screeds
- Properly prepared old ceramic tiles, natural stone, and terrazzo
- Properly prepared old water-resistant adhesive residues
- New mastic asphalt screeds (sanded) with a thickness of 3–5mm, flooring grade (IC10, IC15)
Preparation:
Ensure that sub-floors are clean, dry, and structurally sound, free from grease, oil, paint, polish, or any contaminants that may affect adhesion. Vacuum the surface before applying primers or compound. For underfloor heating, switch it off 48 hours prior to work and back on 48 hours after completion, increasing temperature by +5°C per day. Sub-floors below ground level should have an effective damp proof membrane and a moisture content of 75% RH or below; use a surface damp proof membrane if moisture levels exceed 75% RH. Porous surfaces should be dampened (without pooling), and absorbent surfaces should be primed with a waterproof primer. For wood floors, use 15mm exterior-grade plywood, primed like absorbent surfaces. Sand and vacuum gypsum or anhydrite screeds, priming with Bond It PRIMER & FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE. Existing tiles should be well-bonded, with defective tiles replaced. Asphalt must be degreased and free of adhesion barriers.
Mixing:
For each 20kg bag of LevelMaster 200, add 3.6L of clean water. Gradually add the powder to the water while stirring with a slow-speed drill or paddle for about 3 minutes until a smooth, lump-free mixture forms. Do not overwater, as foam or settling of aggregates indicates excess water. Never reconstitute with more latex once the mix has started to set. For layer thicknesses of 5-20mm, LevelMaster 200 can be bulked with 3mm granite chippings.
Application:
Ensure the substrate temperature is above +5°C. Pour the mixed compound within 10 minutes of mixing, applying up to 6mm thickness. Smooth the surface with a trowel or float. For layers over 3mm, allow previous layers to cure fully before adding more. To achieve thicker layers, mix in granite chippings. Allow proper ventilation during curing. Do not apply to edges or joints. Avoid using at temperatures below +5°C, and protect from foot traffic for 3 hours. Soft floor coverings should be applied after 24 hours.
Ready for Covering:
LevelMaster 200 can be covered with flexible floor coverings after 24 hours for thicknesses between 5-20mm, and ceramic tiles can be applied after 4 hours for up to 20mm thickness. Drying times vary for non-porous surfaces: 1 day for 10mm, 3 days for 10-20mm, 7 days for 20-30mm, and 14 days for 40-50mm.
Limitations:
Do not use below +5°C or above +30°C. High temperatures reduce open time, while cold or humid conditions slow drying. Ensure ambient humidity is below 55% RH for 28 days. LevelMaster 200 is not suitable for external use and must be covered with a final floor covering. It is also not suitable over underfloor heating unless encapsulated by an appropriate screed. Avoid in areas with vibration unless used with LevelMaster LATEX LIQUID or alternative products.
Cleaning:
Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Cured material must be removed mechanically.
