Preparation:
Sub-floors must be clean, dry, structurally sound, and free from contaminants like grease, oil, paint, or polish that could impair adhesion. Vacuum the surface before applying primers or compounds. Turn off underfloor heating 48 hours before starting work and turn it back on 48 hours after completion, gradually increasing the temperature by +5°C per day. Sub-floors below ground level should have an effective damp proof membrane and a moisture content of 75% RH or below. If moisture exceeds 75% RH, a surface damp proof membrane is recommended. Porous surfaces should be dampened without pooling water, and absorbent surfaces should be primed with a waterproof primer. Wooden floors should be overboarded with 15mm exterior-grade plywood, fixed with screws at 300mm intervals, and primed. Sand and vacuum gypsum or anhydrite screeds before priming with two coats of Bond It PRIMER & FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE. Tiles must be firmly bonded, with hollow or defective tiles removed and repaired. Asphalt must be degreased and free of adhesion barriers.
Mixing:
Mix 3.6L of clean water with every 20kg bag of LevelMaster 200FP. Slowly add the powder to the water while stirring with a slow-speed drill or paddle for about 3 minutes until a smooth, lump-free mix forms. Avoid overwatering, as foam or settling aggregates indicates excess water. Once mixed, do not add extra water, and do not mix more than can be laid in 10 minutes. For layers 5–20mm thick, LevelMaster 200FP can be bulked with 3mm granite chippings.
Application:
Ensure the floor temperature is above +5°C. Pour the mixture onto the prepared surface within 10 minutes, applying up to 6mm in a single layer. Use a flooring trowel or float to smooth the surface, and a pin leveller to eliminate air bubbles. The product can be built up to 10–12mm in thin layers, allowing each layer to cure fully before adding more. For thicker layers, add 3mm granite chippings. Allow proper ventilation during curing and avoid contact with vertical surfaces using edging strips. Light foot traffic is acceptable after 3 hours, but soft floor coverings should wait 24 hours.
Ready for Covering:
Flexible floor coverings can be applied to 5–20mm layers after 24 hours. Ceramic tiles can be laid over internal concrete after 4 hours for up to 20mm thickness. Drying times for non-porous surfaces before applying ceramic tiles are as follows: up to 10mm – 1 day, 10-20mm – 3 days, 20-30mm – 7 days, 30-40mm – 10 days, and 40-50mm – 14 days.
Limitations:
Do not use below +5°C or above +30°C as high temperatures reduce open time, while cold or humid conditions slow drying. Ensure ambient conditions remain below 55% RH for at least 28 days post-application. LevelMaster 200FP is not for external use, nor can it be used directly over underfloor heating unless the heating is properly encapsulated with screed. It is unsuitable for areas subject to movement or vibration unless used with LevelMaster LATEX LIQUID or alternative products like LevelMaster ADFLOOR, AD-FLOOR PLUS, or FIBRE PLUS.
