Arbo Easy Stick GS EPDM – Technical Guidance for Building Envelope Sealing

Arbo Easy Stick GS EPDM Technical Guide | Self-Adhesive Membrane - Sealant Supplies Ltd

ARBO Standard EPDM Range Easy Stick (Easy Stick GS EPDM) is a self-adhesive EPDM membrane strip designed to provide long-term wind and watertight sealing around openings and junctions within the building envelope. It is primarily specified for professional use where reliability, speed of installation, and durability are critical.

Easy Stick GS EPDM consists of a 1.3mm thick EPDM membrane reinforced with a fibreglass layer and backed with a self-adhesive butyl compound. This construction provides a balance of strength and flexibility, allowing the membrane to accommodate normal building movement without loss of seal integrity. The fibreglass reinforcement improves dimensional stability, helping the membrane maintain performance over time.

The product is commonly used around window and door frames, cavity wall interfaces, structural openings, and industrial gutter details. Supplied in 20-metre rolls and available in widths up to 1000mm, it can be cut on site in 50mm increments to suit specific detailing requirements. Its split release liner, positioned 30mm from the edge, allows controlled installation and accurate positioning, particularly useful when forming corner details or overlaps.

Surface preparation is essential to ensure adhesion. Substrates must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, and sharp projections. Porous materials such as concrete and cement boards should be primed with a compatible porous primer to improve bond strength. Application must take place in dry conditions, within an ambient temperature range of +5°C to +35°C.

Easy Stick GS EPDM is naturally UV resistant, permanently flexible, and resistant to extreme temperature variations. These properties make it suitable for both concealed and exposed detailing, supporting consistent performance throughout the building lifecycle. When installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guide, the membrane has an expected service life of up to 50 years under normal conditions.

For specifiers and installers, Easy Stick GS EPDM offers a practical solution that reduces reliance on liquid-applied membranes while delivering predictable, standards-compliant results across a wide range of construction types.
