    Uses

    Preparation

    All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, oil or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion.

    Priming

    Bond It BATH & KITCHEN SEALANT does not require a primer on most common construction surfaces. To determine whether a primer is necessary, a sample should be tested. Contact Bond It Technical Service Department for recommendations.

    Application

    Apply using a standard sealant gun. Cut tip from the cartridge, be careful not to damage the screw thread. Cut the nozzle at an angle of 45° to an opening slightly larger than the gap to be sealed. Apply using a standard sealant gun. Smooth down within 15 minutes using a slightly wetted spatula. Remove excess product with a damp cloth. Do not saturate the surface with water, as this will delay curing the process.

    We have a number of tools on our website that would assist with the application of this product. We would recommend using a PC Cox Skeleton Gun to apply & a Bond-it Tooling Kit to aid in providing a professional finish.

    Limitations

    Not suitable when:
    – Applied externally during rainy weather.
    – Applied at temperatures below +5°C.
    – Not suitable for plastic baths – use a sealant with greater flexibility.
    – Do not use in joints immersed continuously in water.
    – Can not be used in contact with bituminous products.
    – Used in areas of high abrasion, e.g. floor joints.
    – This product is not a silicone sealant!

    Bond-It De-Bond Mate is A non-drip gel formula for the complete removal of cured silicone sealant, particularly when silicone has been accidentally smeared over glass, ceramics or countertops. Removes all types of silicone sealant, leaving surfaces ready for re-sealing.

    Uses

    Bond-It De-Bond Mate Silicone Sealant Remover can be used to remove old silicone sealant during renovations. It is suitable for use on concrete brick, glass, metals, PVCu and acrylic-based products.

    Application

    Cutaway excess sealant with a knife or sharp blade. Protect any surrounding paintwork with masking tape. Wipe clean with paper tissue or a dry cloth and ensure all traces of solvent are removed.
    Keep some water handy to deactivate any runs. After that, surfaces should be cleaned with a solvent, such as methylated spirit, before applying fresh sealant.

    Limitations

    If in doubt, try a small area first. Furthermore, if the gel comes into contact with water, the active ingredients will be deactivated, and the gel rendered unusable.

    Storage Conditions

    Store in original, unopened containers, out of direct sunlight. Store between 50 C and 25o C.

Smooth using a stick or plastic spatula wetted with a soap & water solution. Can not be applied to wet surfaces, although wetting immediately afterwards will not have any adverse effects. After that, tools can be cleaned in white spirit prior to curing taking place.

    Limitations

    Bond-It GP200  is not suitable for fixing of mirrors or sealing natural marble.

The nozzle should be cut to an opening slightly larger than the joint to be sealed. For sealing and bedding apply in the usual fashion and tool to a smooth finish one or two minutes after gunning. As an adhesive, bring the two surfaces together before skinning commences and do not stress the joint before the silicone has developed strength. Clean away any excess with white spirit.

Using the gun, apply the sealant to the joint, making sure to achieve the required depth for the joint size. This ensures the sealant will perform at it’s best once cured. Tool off using a spatula or a piece of smooth wood dampened with a soapy water solution.

    Limitations

    Not suitable for use on un-primed metals, types of cement or concrete. In areas subject to fungal or mould growth Bond It, MULTI-MATE silicone should be applied. Joints in which water generates pressure through the substrates on the sealant bond require remedial work before application.

    Bond-It Rain Mate All Weather Sealant – Box of 12

    Bond-It Rain Mate All Weather Sealant is a superior and highly flexible, water repellent, general purpose sealant that has excellent adhesion to all surfaces, even when damp.

    Uses

    It suitable for use on brick, concrete, stone, all metals, painted or bare wood, glass, vinyl and most plastics. Also, it is compatible with bitumen and asphalt for roof repairs in damp conditions. Finally, it is ideal for sealing doors, windows, roofs, cladding and vehicle bodies.

    Application

    Primers are not usually required. For application in damper conditions, disburse any standing water and residual dirt from the substrate.  Dry the surface as well as possible with either a cloth or paper towel prior to applying sealant. All RAIN-MATE colours will adhere to bitumen and asphalt but we only recommend black for this purpose as unsightly discolouration can occur with white and clear.

    Limitations

    Not for use on polystyrene, polycarbonate, plastic roof lights or other surfaces sensitive to solvents. Do not apply at over 60o C or on surfaces which exceed 80o C in use.
