Preparing a level, stable subfloor is one of the most important steps when installing floor coverings. An uneven base can lead to installation issues, reduced durability and visible imperfections in the finished floor. Bond It Fibre Plus is designed to address these challenges by providing a high-performance, fibre-reinforced self-levelling compound suitable for a wide range of internal flooring applications.
Fibre Plus is a cementitious, free-flowing self-levelling and smoothing compound reinforced with fibres and polymers to enhance both strength and flexibility. This formulation helps create a durable and reliable base layer prior to the installation of final floor finishes such as ceramic tiles, carpet, vinyl or wood flooring.
One of the product’s key advantages is its ability to level subfloors efficiently while maintaining flexibility. The compound can be applied at thicknesses from 3mm up to 50mm in a single layer, or up to 60mm when bulked with aggregate, allowing installers to address a wide variety of floor levelling requirements across different projects.
Fibre Plus is suitable for use on many internal substrates, including concrete, cement-based screeds, calcium sulphate screeds, prepared ceramic tiles, natural stone, terrazzo and certain adhesive residues once correctly prepared. This versatility makes it a practical option for refurbishment work as well as new construction.
The compound is preblended and simply requires the addition of clean water, making mixing straightforward on site. Once mixed, the material forms a smooth, free-flowing compound that can be applied by hand or pump depending on project requirements.
Speed is another important factor in flooring preparation. Fibre Plus offers high early strength and can accept light foot traffic after approximately three hours, helping keep projects moving while allowing installers to progress with subsequent flooring work once appropriate drying times have been reached.
The product is also suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, making it a practical solution for modern residential and commercial installations. When working with heated floors, heating systems should be turned off 48 hours before installation and restarted gradually after completion.
Importantly, Fibre Plus is designed as a preparation layer rather than a finished surface. Once the compound has cured, it must be covered with an appropriate floor covering such as tiles, carpet or other flooring materials.
For flooring professionals looking to create a smooth, reliable base before installing final floor finishes, Bond It Fibre Plus provides a flexible and efficient levelling solution.
