BAL Micromax3 ECO is a high-performance, rapid-setting cementitious grout designed for demanding wall and floor tiling applications. Developed for professional installers, it combines speed, durability and hygiene performance while supporting more sustainable building practices.
The grout is suitable for joint widths from 1mm to 30mm, making it versatile enough for mosaics, large format tiles and natural stone installations. It can be used internally and externally, in both dry and wet environments, including showers, wet rooms and swimming pools when installed in line with BS standards. Its flexibility also makes it suitable for heated floors and overlaid timber floors, where movement and thermal change must be accommodated.
Micromax3 ECO is classified as CG2WA to BS EN 13888, meaning it offers reduced water absorption and high abrasion resistance. This makes it particularly suitable for high-traffic areas where long-term appearance and performance matter. The grout sets in approximately 2–3 hours at 20°C, allowing faster completion of projects without compromising finish quality.
A key technical benefit is the built-in Microban® antimicrobial protection. This technology actively inhibits the growth of bacteria and mould, helping grout joints stay cleaner for longer. This is especially valuable in bathrooms, leisure facilities and food consumption areas, where hygiene is a priority.
From an application perspective, consistency is critical. Using the correct powder-to-water ratio and keeping mixing consistent across batches helps avoid colour variation, particularly on larger installations. Joints must be clean, dry and free of adhesive residue before grouting, and porous tiles or natural stone should be pre-sealed where required.
