Suitable for :
– Grouting porcelain, glazed and fully vitrified tiles, glass and ceramic mosaics, marble, and natural stone in both dry and wet interior and exterior environments. Follow BS Standards guidelines (minimum 2mm joints for walls; joint size may vary depending on tile size and environment). Contact BAL Technical Advisory and Specification Service for guidance.
– Suitable for joint widths up to 5mm.
– Recommended for areas with hard water, swimming pools, and power showers.
Restrictions: NOT suitable for
– Food preparation or storage areas, spas, jacuzzis, chemical plants, power showers with body jets, and areas requiring fully waterproof grouting.
MIXING
Use a BAL mixing bucket or other suitable container.
1. Slowly add approximately 3 parts powder to 1 part clean, cold water by weight (see table). Never exceed the recommended water amount, as this may cause colour inconsistencies in the finished grout.
2. Mix until a lump-free mortar is achieved.
3. Allow the mixed grout to stand for 2–3 minutes, then remix for 30 seconds. Do not add any additional water after the initial mixing. Avoid mixing at high speed to prevent entraining air.
APPLICATION
Grouting Procedure
1. Check for potential staining: apply grout to a small trial area. If discolouration occurs or cleaning is difficult, apply BAL Protective Sealer and repeat the trial.
2. Work in small areas with a grout float or squeegee. Completely fill the tile joints with mixed grout, compacting well, and remove excess grout from the tile surface as you go.
3. Allow approximately 15 minutes (at 20°C) for the grout surface to become touch-dry (not fully cured).
4. Using a damp sponge or sponge board, clean diagonally across the grout lines, using as little water as possible and rinsing the sponge frequently. Do not let water enter ungrouted joints.
5. Once the grout has set within the joints, polish the tile surface with a dry, clean cloth.
6. Remove any remaining light haze the next day using water and a white emulsifying pad with a gripper.
7. Wait a minimum of 24 hours before subjecting the tiles to normal use.
