Sika® Rendermix is a water-resisting plasticiser designed to improve the performance of renders and screeds, particularly for exterior applications. It reduces porosity, enhances durability, improves workability retention, and helps prevent water bleeding, while its air-entraining properties contribute to a more workable and durable mix.

– Water-resisting liquid admixture for sand and cement renders and screeds
– Helps prevent water bleeding in fresh mortar
– Reduces water penetration and inhibits salt migration in internal and external renders and screeds
– Suitable as a mortar improver for pebble dashing and roughcast finishes
– Lowers porosity and improves durability
– Retains workability for longer during application
– Air-entraining formula for improved mortar performance
– Recommended dosage: 250–500 ml per 25 kg of cement
– Suitable for exterior render and screed applications
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
– Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, and free from dirt, dust, grease, loose material, flaking paint, or damaged render.
– Remove all cracked or weak areas before application.
– For porous substrates, pre-wet the surface and apply a bonding slurry of SikaBond® SBR+ immediately before rendering.
– Apply render onto the bonding slurry while still wet (“wet on wet” application).
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
– Dosage rates will vary depending on mortar type, temperature, sand quality, and cement type.
– Add Sika® Rendermix to the gauging water before mixing into the mortar.
– For multi-layer renders, thoroughly scratch the previous coat to improve adhesion.
– Each subsequent render layer should be no thicker than the previous layer.
LIMITATIONS
– Do not use in structural concrete applications.
– Not intended as a replacement for a damp proof course (DPC).
– Not suitable for resisting permanent hydrostatic pressure; use alongside a suitable DPM for tanking applications.
– The final finish is not water repellent; apply a suitable sealer if a water-repellent finish is required.
– Avoid overdosing or overmixing to prevent excessive air entrainment.
– Do not mix with other additives in the same gauging water. Always premix with water before use and do not add directly to dry materials.
