Ronseal Quick Drying Decking Stain is designed to refresh and protect your decking quickly and easily, without the need for time-consuming preparation. Unlike traditional stains, it doesn’t require stripping back each year—simply clean the surface and reapply as needed. Its fast-drying formula allows recoating in just 15 minutes, making it ideal for quick projects while still delivering a durable, slip-resistant, and stain-resistant finish that keeps your deck looking its best.

Before You Start
– Choose a warm, dry day (above 10°C) and clear the decking area before starting.
New Decks
– Clean thoroughly using a decking cleaner & reviver or allow the deck to weather for six months to remove any factory-applied waterproofing.
– Rinse well, ideally with a pressure washer.
– Check for remaining treatment by sprinkling water—if it beads, clean again until it no longer beads.
– Allow the wood to dry completely before staining.
Untreated, Grey and Weathered Decks
– Use a decking restorer to bring back the natural colour and improve stain absorption for longer-lasting results.
Previously Treated Decks
– If previously treated with the same stain, clean with decking cleaner & reviver and allow to dry before reapplying.
– For painted, oiled, or other stained decks, use a decking stripper to return the surface to bare wood before application.
How to Apply Ronseal Quick Drying Decking Stain
1. Stir thoroughly and test the colour on a small hidden area.
2. Apply from the furthest corner, working along the length of the boards and covering 3–4 boards at a time to avoid overlap marks.
3. Apply 2 coats, allowing just 15 minutes between coats—even if slightly wet—to improve adhesion.
4. Leave for 24 hours before replacing furniture or using the deck.
5. Clean any stain from skin using warm soapy water.
How to Look After Your Decking
Cleaning
– Remove excess stain from tools and wash in warm, soapy water.
– Do not dispose of leftover stain in drains or watercourses; follow local authority disposal guidance.
Maintenance
– When colour begins to fade, clean the deck with decking cleaner & reviver, allow it to dry, and reapply the stain to maintain protection and appearance
