Sika® Block Paving Sealer is a clear, solvent-based acrylic coating designed to bind jointing sand and create a durable protective seal over block paving, mineral pavers and flags. It penetrates deeply into the paving and jointing sand before drying through solvent evaporation, leaving a clear matt or satin finish.

LIMITATIONS
- Do not apply to wet or saturated surfaces, in direct sunlight, or when rain is expected within 5 hours at +20°C. Application temperatures must be between +5°C and +35°C.
- Sika® Block Paving Sealer requires a porous surface to penetrate effectively. Do not apply to non-porous or painted surfaces, or surfaces previously treated with stearate or silicone-based water sealers, such as Sika Water Sealer.
- Some surfaces, particularly natural stone, may darken slightly. Always test a small area for compatibility before full application.
- The surface is slip-resistant when dry, but water can reduce this property. Paving can generally be reopened to foot and vehicle traffic after 12–24 hours, depending on ambient temperature.
- Avoid contact with surrounding vegetation and keep children and pets away until the treated surface is fully dry. All pavers, flags, blocks and artificial stone must be laid for at least three months before application.
APPLICATION
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
- Ensure all paving is clean and free from mould, fungal growth, oil stains and contaminants. Remove oil using Sika® Oil Remover or detergent and hot water. Clean mould and fungal growth with Sika® Mouldbuster as directed.
- Cement-based pavers and artificial stone must be thoroughly degreased and free from release agents that may prevent penetration. Allow newly laid paving to weather for at least three months to enable salts to leach out and reduce the risk of unsightly white patches beneath the sealer.
- Applying the product to wet or saturated surfaces can result in poor adhesion. In very hot, dry conditions, lightly sprinkle the surface with water to increase humidity, then allow the paving to dry before application.
APPLICATION METHOD
- Apply Sika® Block Paving Sealer using a brush, roller or foam neoprene squeegee from a suitable container or tray. Do not pour the product directly onto the surface.
- Work the sealer thoroughly into all joints to maximise penetration. Apply an even coating and avoid leaving excess product on the surface or allowing it to pool, particularly on textured flags and pavers, as this may cause blotchy or white patches that become more noticeable when wet.
- Two coats are recommended, allowing 3–4 hours between coats. The treated surface can generally be reopened to foot or vehicle traffic after approximately 12–24 hours, depending on conditions.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
- Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with white spirit or Sika® Wonder Wipes. Once cured, product residue can be removed using xylene.
MAINTENANCE
- Clean treated areas with warm water and a mild detergent. For areas affected by green growth, use Sika® Mouldbuster as directed.
- Avoid pressure washing and acid-based cleaners, as these may remove or discolour the sealed finish.
