SikaBond® Mirror Adhesive is a one-component adhesive specially formulated for bonding mirrors to most common surfaces. Its neutral-cure formula protects mirror backings from damage while providing strong adhesion, even on damp surfaces. Suitable for a wide range of applications, it offers reliable performance, fast curing and resistance to many chemicals.

Suitable for:
– Bonding mirrors to most common substrates, including metals, plastics, concrete, plaster, plasterboard, polyester, Perspex, glass, wood, enamel and painted – surfaces.
– Adhering cladding panels and replacing nails with a high-performance adhesive, even on damp surfaces.
– Bonding difficult materials, such as metals and fibreglass.
– Applications requiring high-performance, durable bonding and resistance to chemical spillage.
LIMITATIONS
- When fixing mirrors, provide temporary support until the adhesive has dried (24–48 hours). Overhead and large mirrors must always be used with mechanical fixings.
- Do not use where bond lines are continuously immersed in water, in structural glazing systems or for aquarium manufacture. Use Everflex® Aqua Mate for aquarium applications.
- Avoid use with bitumen, asphalt or substrates that may bleed oils, solvents or plasticisers. Use Everflex® Weather Mate for bitumen or asphalt applications.
- Prime highly porous surfaces, such as new concrete or stonework, before application. Do not use on polyethylene safety-backed mirrors, polypropylene or Teflon.
- Yellowing may occur in dark conditions. The user is responsible for determining the product’s suitability. If in doubt, contact the Technical Services department for advice.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
- All surfaces must be clean and free from dust. Surfaces may be damp but must not have standing water.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
- Cut the cartridge tip carefully without damaging the thread. Fit the nozzle, cut it to the required bead size and apply the adhesive using a standard sealant gun.
Fixing mirrors
- Apply 6 mm diameter vertical beads of adhesive to the back of the mirror, spaced 30–40 mm apart. Immediately position the mirror and press firmly and evenly into place with a slight twisting action.
- Provide temporary support using tape until the adhesive has cured (24–48 hours). If required, seal around the mirror with a suitable sealant, such as Sika® Forever, once the adhesive has fully cured.
As a nail replacement (panel) adhesive
- Prime dusty surfaces with SikaBond® PVA+ diluted 1:4 with water and allow to dry. Cut the nozzle opening to achieve the required bead size.
For bonding heavy items (plasterboard, worktops, wall panels, etc.), apply adhesive around the perimeter, 30–50 mm from the edge, and add beads across the back at 300 mm intervals. Alternatively, apply adhesive directly to battens and press the item into place. Always support heavy items until the adhesive has dried.
For bonding lightweight items (covings, dado rails, skirting, etc.), apply one or two continuous beads of adhesive to the back of the item and press immediately into place.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
- Remove uncured adhesive using Sika® Wonder Wipes or white spirit. Cured adhesive must be removed mechanically.
