FS719 is designed to reinstate the fire performance of compartment walls and floors penetrated by CPVC sprinkler or other CPVC systems. The sealant remains inert under normal conditions, but when exposed to high temperatures it expands to close the void left by the melted CPVC pipe, maintaining fire integrity. It has been tested around 1”, 2” and 3” internal diameter CPVC pipes (33–90 mm external diameter) in flexible and rigid walls, CLT walls and floors, and rigid floor constructions. FS719 can be installed directly into substrates such as plasterboard, blockwork, concrete and CLT, or used in conjunction with FB750 Intubatt and FR230 Intucompound, and must always be applied in strict accordance with approved test methods and recommendations. Typical applications include healthcare, education, modular construction, commercial, retail, industrial, transport and high-risk facilities, including hospitals, train stations and nuclear power plants.
Application
– Insert the required backing material (foamed polyolefin, polyethylene non-oiled, or rock mineral wool, depending on application instructions), ensuring it is oversized for the opening to provide stability and the correct seal depth.
– Open the sealant cartridge using a suitable tool, and cut the nozzle to the desired bead size and angle.
– Apply the sealant into the gap to the required depth by squeezing the cartridge trigger with even pressure.
– Immediately shape and smooth the sealant using a wet profiling tool or spatula for a clean finish.
TOOL CLEANING
– Remove all excess sealant immediately before it cures.
– Clean tools with warm water.
– Once cured, sealant can only be removed mechanically.
PLEASE NOTE
– FS719 is tested specifically for use around CPVC pipes. It may work on other pipe types but is not certified for general fire stopping applications.
– Sprinkler system design must account for CPVC thermal expansion at points of interface with FS719. Install strictly according to manufacturer recommendations and storage guidance.
– Consider local heat sources, other services, and potential building deflection to prevent stress fractures in the sprinkler system.
– FF197 Fire Rated PU Foam must not be used as a backer material with FS719 around CPVC pipes.
– Recommended materials listed in this TDS are approved by Lubrizol as of the publication date.
– When using FS719 within FB750, avoid contact with other sealants that could interact with CPVC.
FBC™ System Compatible indicates ongoing testing for chemical compatibility with FlowGuard Gold®, BlazeMaster®, and Corzan® piping systems, including products made with TempRite® Technology. Visit fbcsystemcompatible.com for more details.
For CPVC pipes from manufacturers other than Lubrizol, use a plain, non-adhesive foil barrier to prevent sealant contact. The barrier should extend at least 50 mm beyond each face of the seal and be visible through the seal.
MAINTENANCE
-No maintenance is required after installation.
-Routine inspection is recommended to ensure the system remains undamaged.
