FF197 is a modified, single-component, fire-rated polyurethane foam designed for sealing door frames, window frames, and linear gaps in fire-rated areas of buildings. It delivers high fire resistance, achieving FD60 performance in accordance with BS EN 1634-1 for fire doors and up to four hours of protection for linear gaps tested to BS EN 1366-4, whether coated or uncoated. The foam performs effectively without architraves, even when used with plastic packers, and accommodates gaps up to 35 mm. In addition to its fire-resistant properties, it provides excellent acoustic insulation up to 62 dB, becomes tack-free in just 10 minutes, and comes in a convenient 2-in-1 gun and nozzle canister for easy application.

FF197 is used to seal door frames and linear gaps throughout the fire rated areas of a building
Preparation
Ensure the product is suitable for your intended use. Protect all surrounding areas and substrates that must remain free of FF197 using an appropriate barrier. Surfaces should be solid, stable, and free from loose particles, dust, and grease. Moistening the substrates can help achieve a faster cure if needed.
Application
Shake the canister vigorously at least 20 times immediately before use. Remove the protective cap and attach the canister to a Nullifire PU foam gun or use the supplied nozzle. Fill approximately 80% of the cavity depth, as the foam will expand, and work upwards on all vertical surfaces. The foam sets firmly in about 1 hour, depending on temperature and humidity, and excess can be trimmed with a suitable knife. Lightly misting clean water between layers can speed curing and increase density.
Tool Cleaning
Immediately after application, clean the foam gun by replacing the foam canister with illbruck AA290 PU foam cleaner and following the instructions on the can. Remove excess foam from unintended areas immediately using AA290 PU foam cleaner or acetone with a dry cloth. Once cured, foam can only be removed mechanically.
