ARBO® Lead Seal S is a high-quality, solvent-free, low-modulus silicone sealant based on neutral curing technology, designed to prevent corrosive attack on lead and other metals. It provides an easy-to-use alternative to mortaring lead flashings into brickwork and masonry substrates. Ideal for sealing and jointing lead sheets, flashings, and pointing into brickwork and other masonry, ARBO Lead Seal S remains highly flexible and will not dry out, crack, or become brittle over time, curing to form a durable, watertight bond. ARBO® Lead Seal S is a versatile sealant suitable for a wide range of professional applications, including sealing and jointing lead sheeting and flashings as a flexible alternative to traditional mortar, pointing into brickwork, masonry, and concrete for durable joint sealing in building façades and structures, and general building or repair work involving lead, stone, or brick interfaces. Joint Preparation
All joint surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Surfaces should be degreased using the appropriate ARBO Cleaner. On some substrates, the use of ARBO Primer 2650 may be necessary. It is recommended to consult ARBO Technical Services for guidance on selecting the correct primer for specific applications. All work should comply with BS8000-16:1997 + A1:2010 – Code of practice for sealing joints in buildings using sealants.
Joint Backing
Where applicable, a suitable joint filler, such as closed-cell polyethylene foam, should be used to achieve the correct joint depth and ensure optimal sealant performance.
