BAL Universal Sealant and Adhesive is a versatile, multi-purpose construction adhesive and sealant that bonds almost any building material—even underwater. With high initial tack and exceptional bond strength, it is ideal for sealing and fixing pipework, shower trays, mirrors, sanitary ware, skirting boards, dado rails, and more. When used with BAL Waterproof 1C, it provides a fully waterproof seal around pipework as part of an EAD-certified system, meeting NHBC requirements for new-build wet areas. Highly flexible, shrinkage-free, and resistant to UV, weathering, and aging, BAL Universal Sealant and Adhesive delivers a long-lasting, durable bond across wood, metal, concrete, ceramic, and plastic, and can be applied in both internal and external environments.

Use For
– Part of an EAD-certified system with BAL Waterproof 1C to achieve NHBC-compliant shower and wet-room installations when sealing pipe penetrations
– Refixing or bonding tiles to walls or floors, including in swimming pools, fountains, and other wet areas—ideal for minor repairs and alterations
– Bonding sanitary ware to tiled surfaces and sealing around baths, sinks, perimeter joints, and gutter cracks
– Bonding a wide range of materials to various backgrounds for general construction, including skirting boards, dado rails, architraves, kick plates, carpet grippers, aluminium and rigid PVC stair nosing, edge trims, and door plates
– Fixing metal boxes in chases, plastic conduits to walls, and metal trunking
General
– Ensure all surfaces are clean, sound, and free from dust, contaminants, or any barriers to adhesion.
Removal of BAL Adhesive and Sealant
– Remove wet adhesive residue using a clean, damp cloth with soapy water. If the adhesive has dried or formed a skin, carefully scrape it off with a blade.
APPLICATION
– Before use, ensure the cartridge has been stored at room temperature. Insert the cartridge into an applicator or skeleton gun, and cut the nozzle to the desired width and angle.
– BAL Universal Adhesive & Sealant can be applied to a wide range of substrates, including concrete, cementitious underlayments, wood, plywood, painted surfaces, drywall panels, ceramic tiles, certain plastics, metal, waterproofing membranes, polystyrene foam, and fibreglass. If there is any doubt regarding substrate compatibility, carry out a trial application.
– The adhesive will begin to skin over within 7–10 minutes, depending on temperature. Skinning occurs faster in higher humidity due to moisture reaction.
– BAL Universal Adhesive & Sealant is suitable for many construction applications, but it is not designed for structural uses where it would need to support building strength or fix structural components such as anchor plates, fireplaces, or structural steel.
