This high-strength, anaerobic adhesive is designed for the permanent retention and sealing of threaded fasteners, sleeves, and bearings. It is resistant to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, and refrigeration fluids, while also providing lubrication during assembly for accurate torquing and corrosion protection. Once the adhesive sets, it cannot be dismantled, making it ideal for preventing rust and corrosion. To use, coat the threads and ensure the adhesive is present at the locking position; it begins to cure when air is excluded from the bonding system.
Key Points:
- High bond strength and resistance to fuels and oils.
- Provides lubrication during assembly for accurate torquing.
- Permanent fixing that cannot be dismantled.
- Protects against corrosion and withstands vibration.
Shelf Life: Minimum of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored at +20°C in unopened bottles.
Storage Conditions: Store in a closed, upright container between +5°C and +20°C in dry, dark conditions. Shelf life will be extended at lower temperatures. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.

Bond It A70 STUDLOCK is ideal for fixing and sealing plugs, through bolts, and studs into castings, eliminating the need for split pins, double nutting, and spot welds. It is vibration-proof and provides lubrication during assembly to ensure accurate torquing and protection against corrosion. Using A70 STUDLOCK enhances throughput and efficiency in the assembly process.
Preparation
Remove heavy oil and grease contamination from parts. Best results are achieved with clean components. Shake the product thoroughly before use.
Application
Coat the threads and ensure the adhesive covers the locking position. The adhesive begins to cure when air is excluded from the bonding system. Follow the handling and strength times provided below.
Bonding Times
At room temperature (+20°C) and a 0.15mm fastener gap size:
- Handling time: Initial strength in approximately 10 minutes
- Full working strength: 6-12 hours
- Ultimate cure: 24 hours
Cure rate depends on substrate, bond gap, and temperature. Smaller gaps and higher temperatures will achieve full bond strength faster.
Cleaning
Wipe away excess adhesive with a dry cloth. Once dried, the adhesive can be removed mechanically using a wire brush.
Limitations
A70 STUDLOCK should not be used on oily or greasy surfaces. It is designed for metal-to-metal bonding. Users should confirm its efficiency with engineering rubbers and plastics. The bond strength on stainless steel may be significantly lower and may require an activator for certain grades. Users must verify the product’s suitability for their specific application. Not recommended for use in oxygen-rich systems or with chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
