Bond It PSA is a premium, solvent-free, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive designed for resilient floor coverings. It is non-staining, highly resistant to plasticiser migration, and can be applied using a trowel or roller. The adhesive is ideal for installing PVC, vinyl sheets and tiles, vinyl-backed carpets, cushion flooring, polyurethane foam gel carpets, and Karndean strip flooring. It can be applied to most common substrates, including concrete, cementitious screeds, flooring-grade chipboard, hardboard, plywood, and smoothing compounds. It can also act as a contact or pressure-sensitive bond on non-porous surfaces. Bond It PSA can be used over existing resilient floors if they are firmly bonded and free from waxes or contaminants. It is suitable for areas with underfloor heating, provided the heating is turned off at least 48 hours before and after installation.

Storage Conditions
Store in the original, unopened containers. Keep out of direct sunlight and maintain a temperature between 5 °C and 30 °C. Protect from frost.

Bond It PSA is recommended for installing PVC, vinyl sheets and tiles, and other vinyl-backed floor coverings, including cushion flooring, PVC-backed carpets, and polyurethane foam gel carpets with impervious backing. It is also suitable for Karndean strip flooring.
The adhesive can be applied to most common substrates, including concrete, cementitious screeds, flooring-grade chipboard**, hardboard, plywood, and smoothing compounds. It can also be used as a “contact bond” or “pressure-sensitive” bond on non-porous surfaces, and over existing resilient floor coverings, provided they are firmly bonded and free from waxes or other contaminants.
Bond It PSA is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems; however, heating should be switched off at least 48 hours before and after installation.
Note: Some chipboard products may be treated with preservatives, fireproofing, or moisture-proofing agents that can affect adhesion. Always check the boards and consult technical services if in doubt.
Preparation
– Comply with BS 8102 (waterproofing), BS 5325 (textile floors), and BS 8203 (resilient floors).
– Ensure sub-floor is clean, dry (<75% RH), sound, and free of contaminants.
- Remove friable areas and repair deep indentations.
- Apply smoothing compound ≥3 mm where needed; vacuum thoroughly.
Priming
– Prime porous surfaces (hardboard, chipboard, plywood) with Bond It PVA BOND (1:4 dilution).
– Ensure compatibility with floor covering manufacturer recommendations.
Application
Wet Bond (porous substrates):
– Apply adhesive with triangular notched trowel (1.5–2 mm deep depending on backing).
– Lay floor covering after 5–20 minutes open time.
Pressure-Sensitive Bond:
– Allow 20–40 minutes for “touch-tacky” bond before laying.
Contact Bond:
– Smooth wet ridges with pre-wetted roller; allow adhesive to dry completely before laying.
– Pre-wet roller can smooth trowel ridges to prevent shadowing.
Finishing
– Roll floor covering immediately in both directions with 68 kg roller.
– Repeat rolling after ~2 hours.
Cleaning
– Clean tools with water before adhesive dries; use hot water or Bond It White Spirit once cured.
– Remove uncured adhesive from floor covering with damp cloth; do not let it dry.
