Everbuild Caulk Once is ideal for sealing and filling cracks and gaps before decorating. it is perfect for use around skirting boards, ceiling cornices, window and door frames, stair treads, risers, and fixtures adjoining walls. It can also be used to repair damaged plaster for a smooth, professional finish.
Substrate Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust. Remove any loose or flaking coatings, old sealants, or mastics before application. For highly porous substrates like new plaster, prime by diluting EVERBUILD CAULK ONCE!® with water in a 1:2 ratio. Slightly damp surfaces are acceptable for application.
Application Method / Tools
Carefully cut the cartridge tip without damaging the thread. Attach the nozzle and trim at a 45° angle to fit the gap size. Use a standard sealant gun, maintaining even pressure and a consistent angle during application. Smooth the sealant within 20 minutes using a wetted spatula, wood piece, or finger, avoiding surface saturation to prevent drying delays. Remove excess sealant with a sponge and warm water. The sealant can be overpainted after 1 hour.
Limitations
- Not suitable for use with bitumen or asphalt.
- Avoid abrading the product once cured.
- Ensure a surface skin forms before overpainting. Some paints, especially low-quality vinyl matt finishes, may crack if movement exceeds their flexibility.
- Not recommended for continuous immersion, below-ground applications, or areas with high abrasion, such as floor joints.
