Mapetex 50 is a black, non-woven polypropylene fabric with a weight of 50 g/m², designed to reinforce waterproof membranes. Made from heat-welded polypropylene threads, it provides a uniform and durable product. It is particularly effective when used with liquid membranes such as Mapelastic AquaDefense for internal and external waterproofing, Mapegum WPS for internal waterproofing, and AquaFlex Roof products for external waterproofing applications.

Non-woven polypropylene reinforcement fabric, Mapetex 50, is applied in combination with various liquid waterproofing membranes, including Mapelastic AquaDefense (a quick-drying membrane for internal and external surfaces), Mapegum WPS (for internal waterproofing), and the Aquaflex Roof product range, which consists of ready-mixed elastic membranes for external waterproofing applications.
Prepare the substrate according to the guidelines in the Technical Data Sheet of the selected waterproofing product. Apply the first coat of the product to the recommended thickness, and as it is applied, immediately place Mapetex 50 on the surface, pressing it down with a flat trowel or spiked roller to ensure proper embedding into the membrane. Once the first coat is fully dry, apply a second even layer of the product to completely cover Mapetex 50. Ensure adjacent sheets of Mapetex 50 overlap by at least 5 cm at all junctions. If rain occurs between coats, ensure Mapetex 50 is fully dry before applying the second layer.
