Sikaflex® PRO-3 SL is a single-component, moisture-curing, self-leveling, elastic joint sealant specifically designed for demanding construction and industrial applications. It offers outstanding mechanical and chemical resistance, with a movement capability of ±35% (ASTM C 719) and bubble-free curing for a flawless finish. Its solvent-free formulation, excellent adhesion to most construction materials, and very low emissions make it a reliable and environmentally friendly choice.

Application Method / Tools
Sikafle PRO3 SL is supplied ready to use. After suitable substrate preparation, insert a backing rod to the desired depth & apply a primer if necessary. Insert 600ml foil pack into appropriate barrel gun and apply Sikaflex PRO-3 SL into the joint, taking care to make sure that it is in full contact with the edges of the joint and be sure to avoid any air entrapment. Masking tape can be used when neater joints are required. Remove the tape within the recommended skin time.
Surface Preparation
Sikaflex PRO3 Self Levelling has strong adhesion without primers/activators to most dry, clean and sound substrates. For optimum adhesion in high-performance applications such as multi-story building work, high-stress areas, extreme weather conditions or continued water immersion, the following procedure shall be followed:
Non-porous substrates:
Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel, powder-coated metals & glazed tiles have to be thoroughly cleaned and treated with Sika Aktivator-205. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of at least 15 minutes & no longer than 6 hours.
Metals like brass, copper, titanium-zinc etc. will have to be cleaned and pre-treated with Sika Aktivator-205. After a flash-off time of at least 15 minutes & then apply Sika Primer-3N by using a brush and allow a flash-off time of at least 30 minutes, with a maximum of 8 hours before sealing.
PVC has to be cleaned and after that, treated with Sika Primer-215 by using a brush. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of at least 30 minutes & no longer than 8 hours.
Porous surfaces
Porous surfaces have to be primed with Sika Primer-3 N using a brush. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of at least 30 minutes & a maximum of 8 hours.
For more detailed instructions, please read the Product Data Sheet for pre-treatments or alternatively, contact our Technical Department. Primers are used as adhesion promoters. They do not replace the correct cleaning of the surface nor do they improve its strength significantly.
