SikaSeal® One Hour Caulk is a fast-drying decorator’s filler and sealant designed to remain permanently flexible after application. It can be overpainted with most paint types or covered with wallpaper, eliminating the need for sanding once dry. Easy to apply and clean up with water, it also offers excellent slump resistance for a smooth, professional finish.

Suitable for:
– Filling damaged plaster
– Sealing and filling cracks and gaps before decorating
– Use around skirting boards and ceiling cornices
– Can be applied around window and door frames
– Stair treads, risers, and wall-adjoining fixtures
LIMITATIONS
– Do not attempt to sand or abrade once cured.
– Do not overpaint until a surface skin has formed.
– For internal use only.
– Not suitable for use with bitumen or asphalt.
– As this product remains flexible, some low-quality paints, particularly certain vinyl matt paints, may crack if excessive movement occurs.
– Not suitable for continuous water immersion, below-ground applications, or high-abrasion areas such as floor joints.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
– Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust. Remove any loose or flaking coatings, along with old sealant or mastic, before application. – Highly porous surfaces, such as new plaster, should be primed using a 1:2 dilution of SikaSeal® One Hour Caulk with water or with Sika® PVA. The product can also be applied to slightly damp surfaces.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
1. Carefully cut the cartridge tip without damaging the thread. Attach the nozzle and cut it at a 45° angle, slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
2. Apply using a standard sealant gun, maintaining even pressure and a consistent angle for the best results.
3. Smooth the sealant within 20 minutes using a wetted spatula, piece of wood, or gloved finger.
4. Avoid over-saturating the surface, as this may delay drying. Excess material can be cleaned away with warm water and a sponge.
5. The sealant can typically be overpainted after approximately 1 hour, once a surface skin has formed.
