A high-performance acrylic dispersion designed for use as both a primer and an additive to enhance the adhesion and flexibility of cement-based tiling products. As a primer, it stabilizes porous and dusting surfaces before tiling, improves adhesion on challenging substrates like vinyl tiles, timber, asphalt, and terrazzo, and prevents swelling in materials such as timber, plasterboard, and MDF. When used as an admixture, it increases the flexibility and bonding strength of adhesives and grouts, making them suitable for areas with slight movement or vibration. To apply as a primer, shake the bottle, apply a single coat ensuring full coverage, and allow it to become tack-free before tiling. If left overnight, a second coat is required. When using as an admixture, add up to 5 liters per 20kg bag of adhesive or grout, noting that higher dosages may impact setting times.

As a primer: to prepare and stabilise porous and dusting surfaces prior to tiling and to improve adhesion on difficult substrates, such as vinyl tiles, timber, asphalt and terrazzo, etc. Also prevents swelling of timber. As an admixture: to improve the flexibility and adhesion of cement based adhesives and grouts in situations subject to slight movement or vibration. To increase the performance of Bond It RAPID-SET (C1F) and make it suitable for use with Porcelain tiles add 2.5 Litres of PRIMER AND FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE per 20kg bag of RAPID-SET.
Preparation
- As a primer: Ensure surfaces are clean, structurally sound, dry, flat, and free from dust, oil, grease, old polish, or any contaminants that could hinder adhesion.
- As an admixture: Follow the surface preparation guidelines specified for the individual adhesive or grout being used.
Application
- As a primer: Shake the bottle well before use. Apply a single, even coat to the substrate, ensuring full coverage. Allow it to dry until tack-free before tiling. If left overnight without tiling, apply a second coat before proceeding. Apply adhesive and tiles as usual.
- As an admixture: Mix up to 5 litres per 20kg bag of adhesive or grout. Note that higher dosages may affect the setting time of some products.
Cleaning
Wash tools immediately with soap and water before the product dries.
