Perfect for preparing surfaces before painting or wallpapering, Cromar Multi-Purpose Powder Filler is ideal for filling cracks and holes in walls, ceilings, and around door frames and skirting boards. It creates a smooth, flawless surface ready for painting or wallpapering.
Preparation: For best results, brush out any loose material and dust from the crack or hole before filling. Slightly enlarge hairline cracks for better filler penetration, and moisten absorbent surfaces with water. Coat nail and screw heads with an oil-based paint to prevent rust.
Mixing: Only mix the amount of filler you can use within 40 minutes. Combine approximately 2.5 parts filler with 1 part cold water to create a stiff paste, using a thicker mix for deeper cracks or holes. Always use a clean container, as a dirty container may affect drying time.
Application: Avoid external application if rain is expected. Apply filler with a trowel or filling knife, pressing it firmly into the cavity, and leave it slightly raised above the surface. Once dry, smooth with sandpaper.
Finishing: The filler dries white and can be painted or papered without priming. For outdoor use, protect the area from rain during setting and seal with an oil-based paint or varnish to safeguard against weathering.
