Fire-Rated, UV-Resistant, Airtight & Watertight Sealing Solution for Windows and Doors
Product Overview:
The FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane + (ME007) is a Class B fire-rated, UV-resistant and high-strength polyester membrane designed for airtight and watertight sealing of construction joints around windows, doors, and sheathing boards. Ideal for use in fire-safe façade systems, it delivers long-term protection while allowing breathability to manage condensation and trapped moisture.

Fire-Rated for High-Risk Buildings:
Meets fire safety requirements under Approved Document B for “relevant and higher risk” buildings. Delivers Class B fire performance when installed over Class A2-s1, d0 substrates (EN 13501-1 compliant). -
Superior Weather Protection:
Achieves Class W1 water resistance under EN 13859-2. Remains watertight for over 24 hours when tested to EN 1928 with 2 kPa water pressure. -
UV Resistant & Durable:
Constructed from UV-stable polyester for long-lasting performance in exposed external conditions. -
Airtight & Breathable:
Creates an airtight seal while allowing internal moisture to escape, helping prevent mold and damage. -
Versatile Installation:
Suitable for sealing horizontal and vertical joints between sheathing boards and structural openings in façade systems. Available in 50 m rolls with slit widths ranging from 60 mm to 400 mm.
Recommended Application:
Use with illbruck FR Membrane Adhesive (SP025) for optimal bonding to frames and substrates. Can be combined with illbruck FR Breather Membrane to form a continuous, fire-rated weather barrier around the entire building envelope.
Installation Note:
Always install with the smooth, coated side facing outward toward the external environment.

Sealing Around Windows and Doors

Apply the membrane to all four sides of the glazed frame in this order:

Start with the sill

Then the jambs (vertical sides)

Finish with the head (top)

Ensure membrane overlaps are at least 100 mm, positioned downwards to prevent water ingress and maintain weather tightness
