Mapefoam is a closed cell, extruded polyethylene foam cord designed to support elastomer sealants by accurately gauging the size of flexible joints. Available in rolls of various lengths to accommodate different foam diameters, Mapefoam is water-resistant and maintains its properties over time. Its deformability makes it an excellent support for all elastic sealants, while its anti-adhesive surface allows the sealant to flow smoothly, maximizing its elasticity.

Mapefoam is suitable for both vertical and horizontal joints in interior and exterior applications. It is specifically designed to ensure the proper sizing of joints in industrial ceramic tile and natural stone flooring before they are filled with elastomeric sealants.
Before inserting the Mapefoam cord, ensure that the interior of the joint is completely clean and free of loose particles by using a vacuum cleaner with the appropriate-sized attachment. Insert the Mapefoam cord of the correct diameter into the joint, applying slight pressure. Note: The width and depth of the joints should be determined by factors such as the anticipated movement, the modulus of elasticity of the sealant, and the specific installation requirements. Finally, seal the joint with a suitable sealant from the MAPEI product line.
