Mapei UltraCare Grout Release is a water-based product for the pre-grouting protection of porous materials (suitable for cementitious grouts only). This product works as a stain protector suitable for use on polished porcelain tiles to prevent grout ingress/staining and for other porous natural stone materials. It can also be used as a pre grouting treatment when installing heavily textured/anti slip porcelain to make the cleaning after installation easier.
Can also be used as a sacrificial protector on non-porous materials with a textured surface to make the removal of grout and installation residues quick and easy. The product is also ideal for terracotta, klinker and natural, artificial and engineered stone.
When applied before grouting, UltraCare Grout Release prevents the grout from penetrating in the micro porosities of tiles and makes it easier to remove excess grout, thus avoiding unpleasant halos or “picture-framing” effect. Suitable for cementitious grouts.
UltraCare Grout Release is a water dispersion made of water-repellent microparticles, which protects surfaces from staining before sealing joints with cementitious grouts. UltraCare Grout Release does not affect the adhesion of the grouting to the tiles.

UltraCare Grout Release also be used as a sacrificial protector on non-porous materials with a textured surface to make the removal of grout and installation residues quick and easy. The product is also ideal for terracotta, klinker and natural, artificial and engineered stone.
APPLICATION
UltraCare Grout Release is supplied ready to use. Shake well before application. Clean the surface in advance using a suitable cleaner from UltraCare range (such as UltraCare Keranet, UltraCare HD Cleaner, UltraCare MultiCleaner, etc.), always referring to the respective Technical Data Sheets.
Wait until the surface is completely dry and then apply UltraCare Grout Release evenly, avoiding the build-up of excess product and spreading it using a fleece applicator or a microfibre cloth. Remove any excess product by brushing the surface with a sponge or cloth. Avoid application on very cold or very hot surfaces (> +35°C o < +5°C).
Wait until UltraCare Grout Release is completely dry (approx. 4-8 hours according to environmental conditions) before grouting the joints. Then grout and clean the joints following the directions contained in the Technical Data Sheet of the product used. Surfaces treated with UltraCare Grout Release are compatible with use of specific cleaners after application, such as
UltraCare Keranet, UltraCare Acid Cleaner or UltraCare Multicleaner according to the type of surface.
LIMITATIONS
The product is not suitable for treating surfaces different from those specified. The product is suitable for use with cementitious grouts only. Always carry out preliminary tests on a sample or on a hidden part of the material, to evaluate the aesthetic result and the efficiency of the treatment before applying it on the whole surface. If the product is used in interior, make sure the room is well aerated during application and drying.
