Suitable for bare or previously painted uPVC doors, windows & trim
Before You Start
– Apply Ronseal uPVC Paint on a warm, dry day above 10°C with no rain expected, as cold or wet conditions can affect drying.
– Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and grease by washing with warm soapy water, rinsing, and allowing it to fully dry.
– Lightly sand to create a smooth, even surface using 180–220 grit sandpaper, and repair any damaged areas before painting.
– For previously painted uPVC in good condition, lightly sand with 240 grit; if flaking or cracked, remove paint using 120 grit sandpaper (wear a mask), then clean off dust.
– New uPVC should be weathered for at least 12 months before painting.
– No primer is required as the paint can be applied directly to the surface.
Application
1. Stir thoroughly before use and apply with a brush or roller.
2. Apply the first coat and leave to dry for 2–4 hours before applying the second coat.
3. A third coat may be required if covering a dark colour.
4. The final coat becomes waterproof in 1 hour.
Aftercare
– Inspect annually for cracks, blisters, or scratches and repair by sanding and applying 2 coats of uPVC Paint.
Clean Up
– Remove excess paint from brushes or rollers and wash in warm soapy water.
– Do not pour leftover paint into drains or watercourses; follow local authority disposal guidance
