Sika MultiSeal is a self-adhesive sealing tape made from a bituminous compound reinforced with an aluminium film. It is designed for quick and easy installation across a wide range of construction applications. It provides excellent adhesion to many building materials and can be applied even at low temperatures. The tape offers outstanding resistance to weathering, permanent UV exposure, and heat-related dimensional changes, ensuring long-lasting performance and durability. In addition, Sika MultiSeal can be painted with most conventional paints for a neat and finished appearance.

Storage Conditions – The Product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C. Always refer to the packaging. Refer to the current Safety Data Sheet for information on safe handling and storage.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
– Do not use on natural stone substrates as discolouration may occur.
– Test coated or plastic substrates for compatibility before use.
– Ensure substrates are clean, dry, sound, and free from dust, oil, grease, coatings, laitance, and loose material.
– Prepare surfaces mechanically using grinding, abrading, or wire brushing equipment where required.
– Remove all dust and debris with a brush or vacuum cleaner.
– Product generally adheres well without primers on clean, dry substrates.
Non-Porous Substrates
– Clean and pre-treat with Sika® Aktivator-205 using a clean towel.
– Allow a flash-off time of 15 minutes to 6 hours before application.
APPLICATION
– Ensure porous substrates are completely dry before application to avoid water infiltration and reduced adhesion.
– Do not use for overhead applications where service temperatures exceed +25 °C.
– Not suitable for permanent water immersion or areas under water pressure.
– Test compatibility before use to avoid adhesion loss, discolouration, or tackiness caused by plasticiser migration.
Low Temperature Application
– Warm the tape by handling before use.
– Warm the substrate with a warm air blower if necessary.
Application Steps
1. Cut tape to required length, allowing overlaps of at least 50 mm.
2. Remove release film.
3. Firmly press tape onto the substrate using a hard-wheeled roller or suitable tool.
OVERPAINTING THE TAPE
– The top film can be painted with most conventional water-based paints.
– Do not use solvent-based paints.
– Test paint compatibility before full application.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
– Clean tools immediately after use with petroleum or turpentine.
– Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
– For skin cleaning, use Sika® Cleaning Wipes-100 followed by soap and water.
