Sikafloor-122 Level Universal is a one-part, ready-to-use, cement-based self-levelling compound designed for smoothing and levelling uneven rigid internal floors before installing final coverings such as carpets, sheet vinyl, tiles, laminates, or timber. With excellent self-smoothing properties, low shrinkage, and easy application by pump or manually, it provides a hard, smooth surface that is protein and formaldehyde-free. It offers a 2-4 hour walk-on time at 20°C and can be overlaid in approximately 8 hours, maintaining good workability and joint healing throughout application.
Key Points
- Versatile Application: Suitable for internal rigid floors, preparing surfaces for a wide range of coverings like carpets, vinyl, tiles, and timber.
- Efficient Performance: Features quick walk-on time (2-4 hours) and overlaying readiness in about 8 hours at +20°C.
- Easy to Use: Self-smoothing, highly fluid, and applicable by pump or manually with good joint healing.
- Durable & Safe: Low shrinkage, excellent surface hardness, and free from protein and formaldehyde.
Shelf Life: 9 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly.

Sikafloor-122 Level Universal is ideal for levelling and smoothing a variety of surfaces, including concrete, sand/cement screeds (excluding anhydrite), quarry tiles, terrazzo, and ceramic tiles. It is also suitable for use in underfloor heating applications beneath heating cables or pipes.
APPLICATION
Substrate Quality:
Concrete or screed must be at least 28 days old, dry, clean, and structurally sound, with an effective damp-proof membrane. The surface should be free of residual adhesives, oil, grease, wax, dust, laitance, or other contaminants that could affect adhesion. Avoid condensation by ensuring the substrate and uncured screed are at least 3°C above the dew point. Turn off underfloor heating 24 hours before and after application, and ensure the floor temperature is above 5°C. If unsure, apply a test area first.
Substrate Preparation:
Remove weak concrete and expose surface defects like blowholes and voids. Use suitable repair mortars for any necessary substrate repairs.
Priming:
- Normal Absorbent Concrete/Screed: Typically, no priming is required. If the surface is strong and rough, dampen with clean water and allow it to surface dry. Treat porous surfaces accordingly.
- Porous Concrete/Screed: Remove all loose material and apply SikaBond® PVA+ (1 part PVA to 4 parts water). For highly porous surfaces, more than one coat may be needed.
- Non-Porous/Dense Substrates: Mechanically roughen surfaces or apply undiluted SikaBond® PVA+ and allow it to become tacky before applying the leveling compound.
Mixing:
Add 3.4-3.5 liters of clean water to the powder, mixing in a clean container with a mechanical mixer until a smooth consistency is achieved. Do not add extra water, and discard any unused material after 20 minutes. If the product begins to stiffen, do not remix or add water.
Application:
Sikafloor-122 Level Universal can be applied from 6 mm to a featheredge. Pour and spread evenly using a steel trowel. For a smoother finish, use a spiked roller within working time. If additional layers are needed, apply them within 6 mm of thickness, priming between layers with SikaBond® PVA+ diluted 1:3 with water.
Curing Treatment:
In warm weather, mist spray the surface to prevent moisture loss and drying or shrinkage cracks. Avoid drafts that can cause moisture loss.
Cleaning of Tools:
Clean tools and equipment immediately with water before the compound hardens.
Limitations:
Sikafloor-122 Level Universal is not suitable as a final wearing surface, for embedding underfloor heating, or for use over unstable substrates. It should not be used externally, on floors with rising damp, or as a damp-proof membrane. It is suitable for foot traffic only and not for slopes greater than 0.5%. Do not mix with other cements or exceed the recommended water dosage.
