Soudal Firecryl FR is a fire-rated acrylic sealant and filler, offering a fire rating of up to 4 hours. It intumesces at temperatures exceeding 120°C, effectively preventing the passage of smoke and fire through joints and gaps. It is also paintable.

Soudal Firecryl FR is suitable for the following applications:

- Inclusion in the ‘Soudal Fire Range’: A component of the ‘Soudal Fire Range,’ dedicated to penetration seals and joints.
- Sealing Fire-Retardant Joints: Ideal for sealing fire-retardant joints in walls and ceilings.
- Fire-Retardant Filling of Concrete and Plaster Cracks: Effective for filling cracks in concrete and plasterwork while offering fire resistance.
- Compatibility with Water-Based Paints and Varnishes: Suitable for applications where the sealant may be painted over using water-based paints and varnishes.
APPLICATION
Substrate Requirements:
- Types of Substrates: All commonly found porous building substrates.
- Nature of Substrates: The surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry, and devoid of dust.
- Surface Preparation: Highly porous surfaces should undergo priming with diluted Firecryl FR (1 part Firecryl FR + 2 parts water).
- Not Suitable for Certain Materials: This product is not suitable for natural stone, bitumen, glass, and metal. We strongly recommend conducting a preliminary adhesion test on each surface.
Joint Dimensions:
- Refer to the ‘Fire Range Installation Instructions Openings and Sealing’ on the Soudal website to determine the appropriate joint dimensions based on the required fire resistance.
Application Guidelines:
- Weather Considerations: Avoid application when rain or frost is anticipated during the curing process.
Application Process:
- How to Apply: Utilize a manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Finalize application by smoothing with a spatula or putty knife.
Cleaning:
- Pre-curing Cleaning: Prior to curing, Firecryl FR can be easily cleaned from both substrates and tools using water.
Finishing:
- Finishing Touches: Finish by using a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution before the sealant starts to skin.
Repairs:
- How to Repair: Use the same material for any necessary repairs.
LIMITATIONS
- Avoid Immersion in Continuous Water: Avoid using in applications where prolonged water immersion is likely.
- Compatibility with Paint: Suitable for painting with the majority of paints.
- Paint Elasticity Requirement: The chosen paint must possess adequate elasticity to be applied over a plasto-elastic sealant.
- Recommended Compatibility Test: Due to the wide array of available paints, it is advisable to conduct a compatibility test before application.
