SikaMix Frostproofer and Plasticiser is a chloride-free, air-entraining mortar admixture that combines frost protection, acceleration, and plasticising properties in a single product. Designed for use in cold weather, it improves mortar workability, speeds up finishing times, and enhances resistance to freeze/thaw cycles while reducing cracking, shrinkage, and efflorescence.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
– Ensure all materials are free from ice before use.
– The temperature of the mortar mix should be at least +4°C before placement.
– Protect screeds after laying until sufficient strength is achieved or temperatures rise above freezing.
– Avoid using weak mortar mixes in cold weather.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
– Add 1.25–2.5 litres per 25kg of cement, depending on the level of plasticising and acceleration required.
– Reduce the amount of gauging water accordingly.
– Alternatively, add directly to the mixing drum at the same time as the water.
LIMITATIONS
– Cover and protect screeds after placement until adequately cured or temperatures are above freezing.
– Do not use weak mixes during cold weather.
– Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
– Not suitable for use with high alumina cement.
– Do not mix with other additives in the same gauging water.
– Not suitable for structural concrete applications as the product is air entraining.
