SikaMix Frostproofer and Hardener is a chloride-free admixture designed to accelerate the setting and hardening of mortar, concrete, screeds, and renders. It provides reliable frost protection during the curing period in temperatures as low as -8°C, making it ideal for cold-weather construction. The formulation also enables faster finishing times, improves productivity by optimising mould usage, and can be used as a plugging admixture where rapid setting is required. Being non-corrosive, it is safe for use with metal components such as brick ties.

LIMITATIONS
– Do not exceed the recommended dosage rates.
– Do not use weak mortar or concrete mixes in cold weather.
– Do not use with high alumina cement.
– Not suitable for structural concrete applications.
– Do not mix with other admixtures in the same gauging water.
– Dispose of product and packaging responsibly.
– Do not allow the product to enter drains or watercourses.
– Users should determine suitability for the intended application.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
– Ensure all materials are free from ice before use.
– The temperature of the mix must be at least +4°C before placement.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
As an Accelerator
– Add 2.5–5 litres per 50 kg of cement, depending on the level of acceleration required.
Reduce the gauging water accordingly.
As a Frostproofer
– Add 2.5 litres per 50 kg of cement for protection down to -4°C.
Add 5 litres per 50 kg of cement for protection down to -8°C.
Reduce the gauging water accordingly.
As a Plugging Aid
– Mix neat with fresh cement and apply immediately.
Cold Weather Protection
– Cover concrete after placement until adequate strength is achieved or temperatures rise above freezing.
– Do not use with high alumina cement.
