Sika® Aktivator-205 is a transparent, solvent-based adhesion promoter designed to improve bonding performance between substrates and Sikaflex® or Sikasil® adhesives and sealants. It reacts with moisture on the substrate surface to create active bonding sites, enhancing adhesion on a wide range of materials while offering a fast flash-off time and easy application.

– Improves adhesion on non-porous substrates including metals, plastics, ceramic screen prints, and painted surfaces

METHOD OF APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
– Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants.
– Adhesion may be improved by additional pre-treatment methods such as scuffing and cleaning before applying the activator.
PRIMER APPLICATION
1. Apply Sika® Aktivator-205 using a clean, lint-free paper towel lightly moistened with the product.
2. Never dip the towel directly into the activator.
3. Use a clean section of the towel for each wipe and replace towels frequently.
4. Apply sparingly, as excessive activator can reduce adhesion performance.
5. If bonding is not completed within the maximum flash-off time, the activation process may be repeated once.
6. The recommended application and substrate temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
7. Consumption and application method will vary depending on the substrate type.
8. Reseal the container tightly immediately after use.
