ARBO Arbosil 1070 represents a single-component, Low Modulus Silicone Sealant with Fire-Resistant properties. It undergoes curing upon exposure to moisture vapor, ultimately transforming into a highly flexible silicone rubber material.

ARBO Arbosil 1070 is suitable for:
• Sealing the perimeters of fire doors and screens.
• Exceptional fire resistance with high movement capability, ensuring 4 hours of fire integrity.
• Utilizing fire-retardant glazing in combination with Arboseal intumescent tape.
APPLICATION
Step 1 – Surface Preparation: Ensure that the surfaces are clean, dry, in good condition, and free from any contaminants. Note that the presence of soap or residue can hinder the adhesion of the silicone.
Step 2 – Surface Readiness: For gaps measuring 6mm or wider, insert a closed-cell Polyethylene foam backer rod, ideally 25% larger than the gap to allow for a minimum seal depth of 10mm. If needed, use masking tape around the perimeter to facilitate easy removal of excess silicone after application.
Step 3 – Loading the Caulking Gun: Insert the ARBO 1070 sealant cartridge into the skeleton gun. Use a sharp blade to snip the nozzle at a 45-degree angle, ensuring a clean cut without ragged edges. Avoid cutting the nozzle too large, as this can lead to difficulty and messiness during application.
Step 4 – Applying the Sealant: Squeeze the gun trigger to produce a smooth, even bead of silicone. Adjust your application speed to ensure a uniform bead. Be mindful not to use excessive silicone, as it will naturally spread when smoothed.
Step 6 – Smoothing and Final Touches: Dampen the silicone smoothers and tools to achieve the desired shape, correcting any mistakes made during the initial application. This is also the time to remove any masking tape used.
LIMITATIONS
• Cannot be overpainted.
• Not suitable for use on laminated glass.
• Not suitable for use on natural stone.
