ARBO® Mirror Adhesive is ideal for bonding mirrors to plastered or tiled walls in various common interior construction areas. Note: It is not suitable for use with plastic safety-backed mirrors; for more information, please contact ARBO Technical Services. Additionally, it is not recommended for bonding mirrors to very friable surfaces.
Substrate Preparation:
Both the mirror and wall surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Use the appropriate ARBO Cleaner to degrease the surfaces. For some porous substrates, ARBO Primer 2650 may be necessary. For specific applications, it is recommended to consult ARBO Technical Services for advice on primer selection.
Application:
ARBO Mirror Adhesive is supplied in 310ml cartridges and should be applied using an ARBO Caulking Gun. Apply the adhesive in 6mm beads, spaced approximately 150mm apart, to one substrate only. For larger mirrors, leave breaks of around 50mm at 500mm intervals to assist in curing and bedding. Mirrors with a surface area under 1m² should be temporarily supported while the adhesive cures. Mirrors larger than 1m² require permanent support along the bottom edge. In high-humidity areas, the back and edges of the mirror should be covered with aluminum foil. To prevent moisture buildup and chemical contamination from the wall finish, leave a 3mm air gap between the mirror and wall.
Note: Do not apply the adhesive when temperatures are below 5ºC or when relative humidity is under 40%.
