ARDITEX CL is a two-part levelling and smoothing compound designed for use on most common internal subfloors, including concrete, cement/sand, and gypsum (anhydrite) screeds. Its excellent flow and application properties make it easy to achieve a smooth, level surface. Suitable for use on heated screeds, it can receive light foot traffic in as little as 2 hours, with most floorcoverings able to be installed after just 12 hours. ARDEX ARDITEX CL Latex Levelling and Smoothing Compound 4.46kg is a high-performance, ultra-smooth floor levelling compound designed for preparing internal subfloors prior to the installation of final floor coverings. Featuring a convenient latex formulation, it requires no additional water, making it quick and easy to mix while delivering excellent flow and self-smoothing properties. Ideal for use over a wide range of substrates—including concrete, cement/sand screeds, and existing tiles—it provides a strong, flexible surface that resists cracking and shrinkage. With rapid drying and walk-on times, ARDITEX CL helps speed up project timelines while ensuring a perfectly level base for materials such as vinyl, carpet, and wood flooring.
SURFACE PREPARATION
– Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, sound, and free from dust, grease, paint, polish, and loose materials.
– Existing adhesive residues must be hard, sound, and non-water-softenable.
PRIMING
– Prime all surfaces with the appropriate ARDEX primer.
– Absorbent surfaces: Use ARDEX P 51 Primer.
– Impervious surfaces: Use ARDEX P4 Rapid Drying Multi-Purpose Primer.
– Prime dried ARDITEX CL before applying additional layers.
GYPSUM (ANHYDRITE) SCREEDS
– Ensure screeds are properly prepared and meet moisture requirements.
– Prime with ARDEX P 51 (1:3 dilution) or ARDEX R3E where specified.
– Not suitable for asphalt or timber subfloors.
MOISTURE CONTROL
– Can be applied over ARDEX MVS 95 within 24 hours if uncontaminated.
– Compatible with ARDEX DPM 1 C / DPM 1 C R when correctly primed.
– Maximum application thickness over DPMs: 6mm.
MIXING
1. Mix 20kg powder with 4.5kg latex.
2. Add powder gradually to latex while mixing.
– Working time: Approx. 20 minutes at 20°C.
– For 10–30mm thickness, add ARDEX Coarse Aggregate.
APPLICATION
1. Pour onto the primed subfloor and spread with a trowel or ARDEX Pin Leveller.
2. Apply at temperatures above 5°C.
3. Use a spiked roller for an improved finish.
APPLICATIONS OVER UNDERFLOOR HEATING
– Ensure heating system is commissioned before application.
– Reduce heating to 15°C during installation.
– Gradually recommission heating 48 hours after installation.
THICKNESS
– Apply from a feather edge to 10mm in one coat.
– Recommended flow application: 2mm minimum.
– Apply 3mm minimum over impervious subfloors.
DRYING AND HARDENING
– Walkable after 2 hours (3mm at 20°C).
– Ready for most floorcoverings after 12 hours.
– Drying time increases with lower temperatures or thicker applications.
COVERAGE
– Approximately 5m² per unit at 2–3mm thickness.
