LD730 is a flexible, mould-resistant acrylic sealant designed for interior painting and decorating. It creates an over-paintable seal, making it ideal for filling cracks and gaps around door and window frames, wall and ceiling penetrations, damaged plaster, and other interior surfaces.

LD730 is designed for interior painting and decorating. It creates an over-paintable seal, making it ideal for filling cracks and gaps around door and window frames, wall and ceiling penetrations, damaged plaster, and other interior surfaces.
Priming
Very porous surfaces should be primed with WD110 to ensure optimal adhesion.
Surface Preparation
Joints must be clean, dry, and free from substances that could impair adhesion. Loose or friable material should be removed. Wood, plaster, and brick may be damp but should not be running wet. Non-porous surfaces should be cleaned using mechanical abrasion if necessary. Joint width and depth should be at least 3 mm to allow adequate penetration and performance of the sealant. For sealing around door and window frames, the minimum joint width should be 6 mm.
Joint Backing
If required, backfill the joint with polyethylene joint backing to control sealant depth and prevent three-sided adhesion.
Application
Before use, it is recommended to test LD730 to ensure suitability for the intended application. Apply in accordance with BS 8000:16 – Code of practice for sealing joints in buildings using sealants, using a conventional skeleton gun at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C. After application, tool all beads to ensure firm and complete contact with joint surfaces. The sealant can be over-painted with emulsion paints after about 1 hour, or with oil-based paints after 3–4 days, depending on ambient conditions. Protect the sealant from water for at least 24 hours, and note that damp or humid conditions will significantly extend curing time.
