Latexplan Trade Fast is a two-part cement-based smoothing compound that comprises a grey powder (part A) made from special cements, graded silica sands, and additives, which is mixed with a synthetic rubber latex (PART B). This compound can withstand foot traffic after approximately 60 minutes and is ready for floor coverings installation within 2½ to 3 hours, depending on the thickness and ambient temperature. It has a very low odour, making it suitable for use in confined spaces and inhabited areas where ongoing activities must continue. Additionally, Latexplan Trade Fast is moisture-tolerant, appropriate for use under MAPEI damp proof membranes, and should not be mixed with any extra latex or water. Furthermore, it has a very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring the health and safety of installers and end-users, and is certified as EC1 Plus by the German association GEV.

Latexplan Trade Fast is designed for levelling and smoothing substrate thickness variations ranging from 3 to 10 mm in a single application, making it ideal for quick installation of various floor coverings on both new and existing surfaces. This product is suitable for high-traffic areas, including those with wheelchair access and chairs on castors. It can also be applied over most old adhesive residues, including bitumen, and is compatible with underfloor heating systems. Typical applications include smoothing concrete floors, sand-cement screeds, and MAPEI Mapecem and Topcem screeds, as well as levelling existing surfaces made of concrete, terrazzo, ceramic, porcelain tiles, and natural stone (with a suitable primer as needed).
Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be clean, structurally sound, and free from grease, oil, paint, plaster residues, and any contaminants, including surface hardeners, water-soluble adhesives, and loosely applied materials that could affect the bond. Before applying a smoothing or levelling compound, it is essential to verify that adhesive residues are not water-soluble, are hard and solid, and possess sufficient strength to support the new layer.
Priming (for 75% R.H. or below)
On highly porous and absorbent surfaces, applying a primer before the smoothing compound can minimize the occurrence of pinholes and air bubbles in the final layer. Eco Prim T Plus is recommended for absorbent substrates, while Eco Prim Grip Plus should be used for non-porous surfaces. When applying a surface damp-proof membrane, ensure the primer is applied above the membrane and not before. If using Latexplan Trade Fast over cured MAPEI surface-applied membranes, always prime the membrane first.
Mixing
To mix, combine 20 kg of Latexplan Trade Fast part A powder with 4 litres of part B liquid. Shake the part B liquid container, then pour it into a clean mixing container. Gradually add part A while continuously stirring with a mixing paddle attached to a slow-speed drill. The mixed product has a working time of approximately 10-15 minutes at +23°C. Avoid adding extra latex or water once the mixture begins to set, and do not over-mix, as this can generate excessive heat and cause rapid curing.
Application
Pour the mixed product onto the prepared substrate and spread it evenly with a smooth-edged trowel in one operation. For a smoother finish, use a spiked roller, which will ensure an even surface that requires no further treatment before installing the floor covering. Avoid over-trowelling once the product is applied. The correct mix allows for thicknesses of 3 mm to 10 mm, with a minimum of 3 mm recommended for optimal adhesive absorption (apply at a minimum floor temperature of +5°C).
Drying
Under normal conditions, Latexplan Trade Fast will withstand light foot traffic after 60 minutes and will accept bonded floor coverings after 2½ to 3 hours.
