Suitable for interior wood including windows, doors and skirting boards
Before you start
– This primer prepares your surface for painting, but you’ll still need to prep beforehand. Lay down dust sheets to protect your floors from any spills or splashes.
Preparation
– Lightly sand the wood using 120-grit sandpaper to help achieve an even finish and improve adhesion. Remove any loose, flaking, or peeling coatings to expose bare wood where needed. Allow the dust to settle, then wipe it away with white spirit and a cloth. Fill any cracks or holes before moving on.
Application
1. Stir the tin thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and consistent.
2. Apply the primer with a brush, working in the direction of the wood grain.
3. Leave the first coat to dry for four hours, then apply a second coat.
4. Allow another four hours to dry.
Aftercare
Cleaning
Clean brushes easily with warm, soapy water after use. Remember, this is a primer and undercoat, so it should be painted over.
Repair
If the surface becomes damaged or chipped, sand the affected area and reapply two coats to restore the finish
