Ronseal Total Wood Preserver is ideal for protecting sheds and fences, helping to prevent rot, decay, and fungi that cause wood discolouration. It also guards against woodworm infestation, keeping your timber in good condition for longer. Suitable for both rough sawn and smooth planed exterior wood, it offers a water-repellent finish to help defend against moisture while maintaining the wood’s natural durability.

Suitable for exterior wood like sheds and fences
Before you start
– Ensure the surface is clean and dry, removing any ingrained dirt with a stiff broom.
– Treat mould, algae, or fungi with a suitable garden cleaner, and strengthen any decayed wood using a wood hardener.
– If the wood has been previously painted, stained, or varnished, remove the coating by sanding or using a stripper.
Application
1. Shake the tin thoroughly to mix the colour pigments.
2. Dip the end grains into the preserver to allow it to fully soak in, then use a brush to apply the product to the rest of the wood.
3. Leave the first coat to dry for 24 hours before applying a second coat in the same way.
4. If repairs or gluing are needed, wait until the second coat is completely dry.
Aftercare
– To maintain protection and keep your wood in good condition, apply a fresh coat annually.
Cleaning
– Remove as much excess product from your brush as possible, then clean it using a suitable brush cleaner. Never dispose of leftover preserver in drains or watercourses—contact your local council for proper disposal guidance.
