Soudaseal 240FC is a high-quality, one-component, neutral-curing construction adhesive and joint sealant based on SMX Hybrid Polymer technology. It offers excellent adhesion to a wide range of materials, including slightly damp surfaces, while providing high elasticity, strong mechanical performance, and movement accommodation of up to ±20%. The sealant is weather- and UV-resistant, mould-resistant with fungicidal protection, solvent-free, non-staining on natural stone, and can be painted with water-based paint systems.

Substrate Condition
– Ensure the surface is rigid, clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants.
Substrate Preparation
– Prime porous surfaces exposed to water with Primer 150.
– Clean and prepare non-porous surfaces using a Soudal Activator or Soudal Cleaner (refer to the Technical Data Sheet).
– Degrease all surfaces before bonding.
– Remove release agents, processing aids, and protective films from plastic surfaces prior to bonding or sealing.
– For optimum adhesion, use Soudal Surface Activator.
– Always perform a preliminary adhesion and compatibility test before application.
Substrate Types
– Suitable for most common building materials, including lacquered wood, steel, galvanised steel, aluminium alloys, polystyrene, polycarbonate, PVC, ABS, polyamide, PMMA, fibreglass-reinforced epoxy, and polyester.
– Not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper, brass, bronze, or other copper-containing materials.
– Not recommended for stress-loaded bonding of PMMA (e.g. Plexiglas®) or polycarbonate (e.g. Makrolon® or Lexan®), as stress cracking or crazing may occur.
Application Method
– Apply using a manual, pneumatic, or battery-powered caulking gun.
– Clean tools and uncured sealant immediately with White Spirit or Soudal Surface Cleaner.
– Smooth the sealant with Finishing Solution before skin formation.
– Repair damaged areas using the same material
