Cromar Croma Verge is a durable dry verge system designed to provide a secure, weather-resistant finish to the edges of tiled roofs. Application:
Cromar CromaVerge is a universal dry verge system used on pitched roofs to secure and protect the exposed edge (verge) of interlocking roof tiles along the gable end. It is installed at the roof eaves and continues up the bargeboard to the ridge, where verge units interlock and are mechanically fixed to the roof battens. The system eliminates the need for traditional mortar bedding, providing a quicker installation while keeping tiles firmly in place even in strong winds. CromaVerge is suitable for most metric and 15 × 9 interlocking roof tiles and is designed to provide a maintenance-free, well-ventilated, and weather-resistant verge detail. It is commonly used in new roof construction as well as refurbishment projects where existing mortar verges are replaced with a dry verge system.
Limitations:
Despite its versatility, CromaVerge has certain limitations. The system is primarily designed for use with interlocking roof tiles and is not suitable for thin leading-edge tiles, plain tiles, or slate roofs. Proper installation according to the manufacturer’s instructions is required to ensure correct performance, including fixing the verge units securely to the battens and using the appropriate starter and ridge end components. Additionally, the manufacturer’s responsibility is limited to the quality of the supplied product, and performance may be affected by site conditions or incorrect installation that are outside their control.
