Sika Blue Grit is ideal as a bonding coat for walls before plastering, it ensures strong adhesion to challenging substrates such as glass, ceramics, MR plasterboard, MDF, precast concrete, and various particle boards.
Substrate Quality and Pre-Treatment
Ensure the substrate is free from dust, release agents, and frost, and is suitable to provide adequate support.
Application
Stir well before use. Ensure ambient and surface temperatures are above +5°C. Apply a single, even coat using a short-pile roller or brush. The blue colour of Sika Blue Grit® helps ensure complete coverage by highlighting missed areas. Protect adjacent surfaces from splashes and clean any splatters with warm soapy water before drying. Allow the coating to dry thoroughly before plastering, typically a minimum of 6 hours. Note that drying times may be significantly longer in low temperatures.
