Suitable for all wood and melamine furniture, doors, drawers, shelves & skirting.
Before you start
– Make sure your room is above 10°C and well ventilated by opening a window. Cover any surfaces you don’t want to get paint on.
– If you’re painting cupboard doors or drawers, it’s best to remove them and lay them flat. If the wood is in good condition, lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper to help the paint adhere.
– If the surface is flaking or cracked, sand it back to bare wood using 120 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the grain. Always wear a face mask, then vacuum dust and wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
– Fill any holes or cracks with a suitable wood filler such as Multi Purpose or High Performance Wood Filler. Take extra care with wood painted before 1960, as it may contain lead paint.
Application
– Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Apply with a synthetic brush or foam roller, working in the direction of the woodgrain. It will be touch dry in around 1 hour.
– In most cases, one coat is enough. However, if covering a strong or bold colour, a second coat may be needed. If so, allow 4 hours drying time, lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper, wipe clean, and apply the final coat once dry.
Aftercare
Cleaning
– Remove as much paint as possible from brushes or rollers before washing in warm soapy water. Do not pour leftover paint into drains or watercourses; check with your local authority for disposal guidance. Protect from frost.
Maintenance
– Avoid abrasive cleaners as they may damage the finish. Clean surfaces using mild soapy water only.
