Available in four popular colours – Black, Light Grey, Dark Grey, and Beige – it mixes quickly on-site with water to create a smooth finish for external patios, terraces, and paths. Easy to spread with a pot life of 45 minutes, it offers approximately 0.5kg/m² coverage at 5mm joints, cures in 24 hours, and comes in convenient 10kg bags, making it the preferred choice for fixing external tiles, pavers, and natural stone.

PREPARATION
Before grouting, ensure that the BAL BEDDING MORTAR used to fix tiles has fully set according to the mortar packaging instructions. Open joints must be clean, dry, free from loose debris, and protected from contamination. Grouting should only be carried out at temperatures above 5°C and rising, with protection provided against inclement weather during and after application. Be consistent with the amount of clean cold water used when mixing cement-based grout, especially for larger areas. For porous tiles in temperatures above 25°C, dampen joints with clean water prior to grouting.
MIXING
Slowly add 10 kg of grout powder to approximately 2.3 litres of clean, cold water and mix thoroughly until a smooth paste is achieved. Only mix enough grout for a working time of 45 minutes at 20°C, and do not add any further water. If using an electric drill mixer, blend at slow speed (under 300 rpm). Note that working and setting times vary with temperature: higher temperatures shorten the time, while lower temperatures lengthen it.
APPLICATION
Check for potential staining by applying grout to a small trial area. If discolouration occurs, treat tiles with BAL PROTECTIVE SEALER and repeat the trial. Work in small areas using a grout float or squeegee, fully filling joints and compacting grout while removing excess from the tile surface. Allow the grout to firm in the joints before cleaning the surface (approximately 15 minutes at 20°C). Clean diagonally across joints with a damp sponge or sponge board using minimal water, rinsing frequently. If necessary, use an emulsifying pad to remove grout residue without damaging joints or tiles. Once set, give the surface a final wash with clean water and polish with a dry cloth. Allow a minimum of 24 hours before subjecting tiles to normal use and protect from rainfall until fully cured.
CLEANING
Always use cleaning products and methods appropriate to the tile type.
