The illbruck ME241 EPDM Prefab Corners are pre-moulded from EPDM for use with illbruck membranes, providing strong reinforcement for critical corner details. Their 3D shape simplifies installation, eliminates the need for cutting or folding membranes, and ensures safe, airtight, and waterproof sealing. Designed for single adhesive bonding without primers, these corners reduce the risk of membrane tearing and are fully compatible with illbruck ME220 and ME501 membranes. UV-stable for the service life of the membranes, they offer a reliable solution for maintaining airtight and watertight corner joints.

Uses:
– Provides a high-performance seal for corners of the perimeter joint between window/curtain wall and backing wall
– Ideal for projecting windows and other complex corner details
– Enables robust sealing of linear perimeter membranes without multiple cutting or folding
– Compatible with illbruck ME220 EPDM and ME501 Duo Window Membrane HD
Application
– Select the membrane width to suit the window frame thickness and projection from the backing wall, allowing a minimum of 70 mm coverage onto the frame and wall (50 mm minimum if the frame is only 70 mm).
– If a breather membrane is already on the backing wall, cut it back to allow the perimeter membrane to bond directly to the wall.
– ME241 Corners can be applied before or after the membrane depending on the membrane type: for OT015 or SP525 bonded membranes, corners can be installed before or after; for membranes with self-adhesive strips or gaskets, corners must be applied after membrane installation.
Application with ME241 installed before membrane
1. Place the ME241 Corner dry, mark the location, remove, apply OT015 adhesive to the backing wall, then press and roll the corner onto the adhesive until adhesive appears at the edges.
2. Cut membranes for sill, jambs, and head, and apply in sequence, bonding to frame and backing wall with the appropriate adhesive. Overlap membranes past the window dimension and bond short edges to prevent water ingress.
3. Seal the joint between the new membrane and existing breather membrane using illbruck ME315 Total Protection Tape.
Application with ME241 installed after membrane
1. Cut membrane lengths to match the window dimensions and apply to sill, jambs, and head, bonding with the appropriate illbruck adhesive.
2. Place the ME241 Corner dry, mark, remove, apply adhesive to the backing wall, and consolidate by pressing and rolling until adhesive is visible at the edges.
3. Seal the edge joint with ME315 Total Protection Tape to ensure water-tightness.

– ME501 Duo HD – use OT015 (SP525 may be used for linear membranes but not in contact with ME241
