Suitable for:
– Curtain walling: cap, toe, heel, and air seals
– General sealing and jointing
– Silicone structural glazing in 2-sided systems
– Weather seal in butt (2-sided) and stopless (4-sided) glazing systems
– Joints within curtain and window systems
Limitations
– Not suitable for permanent immersion
– Avoid surfaces where migration of constituents can occur (e.g., certain rubbers)
– Do not use over tars, asphalt, or materials that bleed oils, plasticisers, or solvents
– Not for areas subject to abrasion or physical abuse (e.g., trafficable joints)
– Overpainting not recommended
– Not suitable for exterior below-ground applications or horizontal traffic joints
– Not suitable for airtight enclosures (requires atmospheric moisture to cure)
– Test sensitive substrates (e.g., marble, architectural stones) for staining before use
Note: For potential staining issues, use FA870 or FA880 if appropriate.
Priming
– Primer generally not required for common substrates
– Some surfaces (milled aluminium, porous stones, special finishes/coatings) may require primer
– Submit special substrate details to CPG UK Technical Services for guidance
– Conduct a site adhesion trial to confirm substrate compatibility
Method of Application
– Follow BS 8000-16 – Code of practice for sealing joints in buildings using sealants
– Tool beads immediately after application to ensure full contact with joint faces
– Use a conventional skeleton gun for application

Cleaning
– Clean tools with Isopropanol or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)
