FS702 Intumastic is a water-based acrylic sealant that cures to form a firm yet flexible fire-resistant seal, suitable for both linear joints and service penetrations. It provides up to 4 hours of fire resistance, tested to EN 1366-4 and EN 1366-3, and allows up to 30% movement during fire conditions. The sealant is suitable for use on flexible and rigid walls and floors, including sealing FB750 Intubatt, while also offering acoustic and smoke sealing performance. Additionally, it is air pressure tested up to 2000 Pa and features Optifire® and Optifire®+ unique traceability identifiers for quality assurance.

FS702 Intumastic is ideal for use around non-combustible services, cables, and rock fibre insulated non-combustible pipes, with a minimum depth of 25 mm. It is suitable for a wide range of construction joints, offering up to 30% movement capability while providing excellent acoustic and air sealing. FS702 can be applied to static and movement linear joints (masonry to flexible or rigid walls/floors), sealing FB750 to flexible or rigid walls and floors, and cold smoke sealing. It is also effective for service penetrations, including copper and steel pipes, cable bundles, trays, and ladders, with or without FI025 Intuflex Insulation Wrap, and for service movement joints. With excellent adhesive properties, FS702 can be used for bonding and pointing joints and penetrations in conjunction with the FB750 Intubatt system. Typical applications include health and leisure facilities, schools, universities, modular construction, commercial buildings, hospitals, retail and industrial units, train stations, and nuclear power plants.
Preparation
Check that the specification is suitable for the required movement, fire rating, and gap size. Ensure all services passing through the compartment penetration are compatible with FS702 and installed to the satisfaction of relevant parties, referencing the manufacturer’s TDS for each service. Identify all service types and ensure the necessary Nullifire ancillary products, such as FB750 Intubatt, are available. If a decorative finish is required on surrounding substrates, apply masking tape to protect these areas.
Application
Insert the required backing material, oversized to the joint width, to ensure stability and the correct seal depth. A light water spray can aid adhesion when using a rock mineral fibre backer. Cut the cartridge nozzle to the required bead size and angle using a sharp knife. Apply the sealant evenly into the gap using a caulking gun, then immediately tool the surface to a smooth finish with a wet profiling tool or spatula.

Tool Cleaning
Remove all excess sealant and masking tape immediately before curing. Clean tools in warm water. Once cured, sealant can only be removed mechanically.
